Head of Animal Welfare Department (m/f/d)

Your contribution will be

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Animal Welfare department at LIONSROCK Big cat Sanctuary with around 100 big cats
  • Managing the departments personnel and administrative needs
  • Strategic planning of future expansions according to internal needs and intake capacity
  • Networking with relevant external stakeholders
  • Contributing to the development of the Sanctuary including operational facilities, the education and volunteer program in accordance with the strategic objectives of FOUR PAWS
  • Collaborating with our international colleagues on rescue missions, health and husbandry standards and scientific projects

 

Your profile ideally illustrates

  • Extensive experience in captive wildlife management
  • Proven management experience including budget responsibilities
  • Understanding of and experience in safety management
  • Master in Zoology or similar discipline
  • Willingness to relocate to Bethlehem, Free State, South Africa
  • Willingness to work on weekends and on standby
  • Passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS vision and mission
