About FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary

FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary is one of several wild animal projects by the international animal welfare organisation FOUR PAWS International and is located in Nijeberkoop, a small village in the Northern part of the Netherlands.

Here we provide a safe home to rescued big cats, focusing on providing intensive, specialised care for individual, traumatised and/or physically impaired big cats with specific needs, to help them cope with their physical and mental traumas.

These big cats come from a number of different tragic backgrounds such as from circuses, private keeping and war-torn zoos and often have had a difficult life before rescue. The team works hard to improve their overall welfare and provide them with the best possibly quality of life.
