Behind the Scenes: Live Lamb Cutting Reaction Videos

Working with Lamb Chop, Elizabeth Turner, and more Hollywood stars in LA to bring awareness for animal welfare

10.2.2025

FOUR PAWS is collaborating with actors and celebrities in Los Angeles, California, in order to bring awareness to the issue of Live Lamb Cutting. And we are especially honoured to be working with one V.I.P. lamb, the iconic Lamb Chop and Mallory Lewis!

Live lamb cutting, also known as mulesing, is a painful procedure where pieces of a the young animal's buttocks skin are cut away. This mutilation, which is practiced in Australia on Merino wool lambs, often without any pain management, is done in order to prevent a condition called 'flystrike'. Even though live lamb cutting is unnecessary, as alternatives exist, over 10 million lambs a year still endure this cruelty. Learn more about live lamb cutting.

Most people have never heard of live lamb cutting and are unaware of the hidden pain that many lambs endure to provide the fibers for some wool clothing. If people knew about this cruelty, surely they would want it to stop, but how to get the word out?

Lamb Chop and Mallory Lewis use their voices to help lambs

FOUR PAWS is honoured to connect with the perfect voice for our live lamb cutting awareness campaign: TV stars Lamb Chop and Mallory Lewis!

"When I first heard about live lamb cutting, I thought it sounded scary and mean, so I wanted to speak up for all the other lambs who don’t have a voice like I do.”
